ARTPICK 2012
Friday, November 9, 2012
Phoenix Art Museum
Cummings Great Hall
ArtPick, Contemporary Forum’s annual November event, provides attendees with the opportunity to help choose Phoenix Art Museum’s next contemporary art acquisition. Sara Cochran, Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, selects up to five works of art which will be on display during the event.
At an exciting party with a casual buffet, hosted bar and an irresistible silent auction, attendees become curators for the evening, viewing the selected works by leading contemporary artists and voting for their favorite work of art. Suspense builds at this festive, informal event and the evening culminates with the announcement of this year's winning work of art. The piece receiving the highest number of votes is then purchased by Contemporary Forum for the Museum's permanent collection with funds raised at the event.

One of the extraordinary results of ArtPick is that many private donors have often purchased their favorite curatorial choices and then donated these pieces to the Museum. This is possible because all of the curatorial choices are regarded as worthy of admission to the permanent collection.
While the following works were not the ArtPick winning selections, they subsequently were acquired as a direct result of ArtPick events.
